FAQ
Frequently asked question about medical/paramedical tattoo, scar, stretchmark camouflage & 3D Areola
What is a Paramedical/Medical Tattoo?
Paramedical tattooing, also referred to as corrective or reconstructive tattooing, is a cosmetic technique that employs pigment or serums to address medical conditions, enhance aesthetics, or improve the appearance of injuries.
What happens to my tattoo if I tan?
We strongly advised to use > SPF 35 + to expose skin for overall skin health.
With that in mind. We use skin toned ink in spaces that are or are not exposed to the sun. So if, you plan on tanning keep in mind that the areas that have been camouflage will no longer be darken by the sun. If, surrounding area becomes darker then the camouflage area will stay neutral (the skin toned ink that was used).
Why do I need a consultation?
Consultations are required for all services (30-60 minutes).
As we will look at the area of concern in detail and discuss your goals and expectations of such services. We will be going over in detail the process of our tattooing, before care, aftercare and healing process and cost. You will have the opportunity to ask questions to ensure you are comfortable choosing Lux Aeterna Ink Studio for your treatment.
The consultation fee is currently FREE, in the future a fee will be asked for consultations and that amount will be applied toward your service.
Does scar camouflage tattoo hurt?
Pain level can vary depending on the area being treated and individual pain tolerance. Most clients report mild to moderate discomfort and rate pain 2-4/10.
How soon will I see results?
The results unlike getting a black or colorful tattoo, are typically visible between 2 - 8 weeks, as the healing process can vary from person to person. You have to take in consideration our skin renewal (regeneration) process as we age, the process slows down along with skin moisture also decreases with age.
Can camouflage tattoo restore skin tone for vitiligo?
It can reduce the contrast between vitiligo patches and the surrounding skin. But you will need to consider the following: Cannot have active vitiligo and must be stable for at last 2 years. There is a possibility of vitiligo to flare up after such treatment. As well as camouflage ink may be process faster by skin, and would need frequent touch ups.
Can I get this treatment while pregnant or nursing?
No, it is NOT recommended to undergo a paramedical tattoo while nursing or pregnant.
Are there other conditions that may prevent from getting camouflage tattoo?
Individuals prone to Keloids, Transmittable blood conditions, like HIV & Hepatitis. Active infections (Bacterial, fungal or viral). Undergoing hormone replacement therapy. Active skin cancer. Undergoing chemotherapy or radiation. Uncontrolled diabetes, Those with cardiac or vascular disease / abnormalities. Some conditions mentioned will need to get cleared by Physician.
Can I cover an old tattoo?
Unfortunately, paramedical tattoo will NOT cover up for any old or faded tattoo. We use flesh toned specialized ink for paramedical camouflage, that are not designed to cover up black or colorful ink.
We let our clients know that if your tattoo is still visible they will need to get it removed via laser. Now, if you have done so and resulted in hypopigmentation, then you may be a candidate, and scheduling a consultation will be advisable.
How much does paramedical tattoo cost?
We only provide quotes after a consultation, as everyone's scars, stretch marks, and skin are different. Several factors affect the cost, such as location, size, amount, color and texture. Therefore quotes are given on an individual basis.
Is it painful to get 3D Areola Tattoo?
We are able to provide comfort care with topical medication if needed during session. Area can be sensitive and we want our clients to be comfortable on this last process of their journey.
